Our very own Mr Seth Spivey chosen as the IESA Athletic Director Spotlight!!!
🌟 Athletic Director Spotlight 🌟
Meet Seth Spivey, Athletic Director at Cambridge Jr/Sr High School!
Seth has been an AD for 18 years. Although becoming an athletic director wasn’t part of his original plan, the opportunity—and the mentors who supported him—guided him into the role. Seth credits Mr. Jay Bizarri, his first principal, for teaching him to do things the right way, and Mr. Roger Sander, his college coach, for shaping him into a versatile “jack of all trades”—skills that remain essential in a small-school setting.
Seth’s favorite part of the job is watching young athletes develop skills that will serve them at higher levels, even when the scoreboard doesn’t tell the whole story. He loves seeing the fundamentals take shape and shine as athletes grow.
A favorite memory of his has been inducting teams and individuals into the Athletic Hall of Fame, giving him a meaningful look into the moments that shaped their lives.
His advice for future ADs: Double and triple check inherited schedules and learn from those around you. You’ll build your own system, but others' experience can be incredibly valuable along the way.
